This fabulous 'You are a Star' Mirror is here at last. A stained glass star and a mirror in one design. A useful and beautiful addition to any home and a great present for yourself or for someone you care about.

The stained glass parts of the star are soldered around a glass nugget. The whole star is soldered onto one side of the top of the cut out in the corner of the mirror. The mirror has a hidden wire attached to the back of it, so it is ready to hang on our wall.
The design process is always the starting point followed in this case by making each of the triangles. Each triangle was cut out, ground smooth, copper foiled and tin-soldered. The glass nugget was chosen to match the glass and copper foiled and tin-soldered and the design of the star decided.

Then I cut the mirror to the circlular size I wanted for the star and cut out and ground the 'hole' for the glass nugget to fit into. The mirror was ground smooth around the edge, copper foiled and tin soldered.

During the next stage the glass nugget was soldered into place and then the parts of the star were tack-soldered in position around the nugget into their final arrangement. Once the design was finished the whole piece was bead soldered, washed thoroughly and polished.

Finally a wire was attached by solder to the back of the mirror, so it is ready to hang.
