English Bluebell - hanging or for planting (with stake)

This beautiful, delicate spring flower is a stunning blue, made from stained glass to reflect the English Bluebell, which can last the whole year round.

The Raceme

English Bluebell flowers are borne in a raceme. A raceme is a group of flowers sequentially attached to the same flower stem via a short stalk, or pedicel. The flowers at the bottom of the raceme open first. English bluebell flowers generally hang from one side of the raceme, which is arched. A long and slender bract is located where a flower joins a pedicel.

Option 1

This is a hanging blubell which has a small hoop for a nylon line to thread through up to whatever it is to hang from, on a window or against a mirror. 

Option 2 

The bluebell can be positioned wherever you choose to 'plant' it, which of course can change whenever you decide to move it, perhaps to from one plant to another in your home or to  a space where the flowers have been and gone or are still to bloom in a plantpot or raised bed in your garden?

I can present the bluebell on a piece of mount board, which is excess/waste, supplied from a local picture framer in line with my recycling policy. It will be inside a  bio-film biodegradable/compostable clear bag. 

I could also gift package your bluebell in a small box made from 100% recycled paper if you would prefer at a small extra cost.

The process starts with drawing and cutting out three flower heads from the same blue opaque glass and two leaves from green stained glass.  Each piece is then ground smooth ready to be copper-foiled and tin-soldered. 

Then the flower heads are tin-soldered and the 7 blue wire divisions are soldered into place before all the pieces are soldered together with the blue coated wire onto the stem and to the leaf. The final piece is  bead soldered, washed and polished. 

Option 1:

A small hoop made previously from wire is then soldered onto the back of the stem to allow the whole piece to be hung using the nylon line.

Option 2: 

Two spikes are  soldered to the sides of the stem and leaf protruding down to 'plant'  into the soil of the chosen plant.

Each bluebell is made individually so my vary slightly in size and shape but will be approximately 6 inches /15cm tall and 4 inches/10cm wide

Each flower head is approximately 1 inch/ 2.5 cm wide and high.

Option 2 - The spike added will be 2- 2.5inches /5/6cm long.
